Water Filtration for Ormond Beach Homeowners

From Ormond-by-the-Sea to the Tomoka corridor, Ormond Beach homes draw on the same municipal supply and aquifer conditions affecting the rest of Volusia County. We test your water on-site and show you exactly what's there.

Serving Every Corner of Ormond Beach

Ormond Beach sits at the edge of the Halifax River, and homes here span everything from older riverside properties near Riverside Drive to newer developments west of I-95. Water conditions vary by neighborhood, plumbing age, and whether a home is on city water or a private well.

We've run tests on both sides of town — older homes near the historic district often show elevated lead readings from pre-1986 plumbing, while newer construction west of the highway tends to run harder on the TDS meter due to well-sourced irrigation lines feeding back into household supply in some developments.

Local Water Note: University of Florida Health researchers identified PFAS concentrations above EPA safety limits at several Volusia County springs within the same regional aquifer Ormond Beach draws from. Springs are a separate water source from municipal wells, so this doesn't prove direct contamination of city tap water — but it does confirm an active PFAS pathway in the region's groundwater. Standard municipal treatment does not remove PFAS regardless — only reverse osmosis filtration reliably does.

What the City's Own 2025 Water Quality Report Shows

Every year, the City of Ormond Beach publishes a Consumer Confidence Report detailing exactly what's in the municipal water supply. We read the full report so you don't have to. A few things stand out.

The city's own report confirms the hardness, TDS, iron, and sulfur smell. In its own words: "Our source water contains a relatively high concentration of calcium and, to a lesser extent, magnesium, typically referred to as hardness. The water is also high in total dissolved solids, iron, and contains significant amounts of the dissolved gases carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide." This is exactly the hard water and sulfur odor most Ormond Beach homeowners already notice — confirmed directly by the water provider, not by us.
Fluoridation was discontinued in January 2025. Following resident requests, the City Commission voted to permanently stop adding fluoride to the water supply, effective January 22, 2025. If your household relied on municipal water for dental fluoride, that's worth knowing — this is a genuinely current, actively debated topic nationally, and residents should be aware of the local change either way.
Chlorine levels touched the legal ceiling in individual samples. The running average was 3.2 ppm, compliant with the 4.0 ppm limit — but the reported range hit as high as 4.4 ppm at individual sampling points during the year, meaning some samples came in above the standard even though the overall average stayed compliant.
Disinfection byproducts, well within range. Total trihalomethanes (TTHM) came in at 57.6 ppb against an 80 ppb limit, and haloacetic acids (HAA5) at 30.8 ppb against a 60 ppb limit — both compliant with meaningful room to spare, a stronger showing than some neighboring systems.

What Ormond Beach Homeowners Ask Us Most

"My water smells like sulfur near Tomoka." — Common in homes closer to the wetlands and well-influenced areas. A whole-house carbon or oxidizing filter resolves this at the point of entry.

"My shower glass in Halifax Plantation keeps staining." — Classic hard water scale, extremely common across Volusia County's limestone aquifer. A water softener stops it at the source.

"Is my water actually safe near the river?" — City water meets federal minimums, but that's a lower bar than most people assume. A test gives you real numbers instead of guessing.
